On a plot of land in Kilchberg with a 180-degree view of the lake, which gently slopes down to Lake Zurich, a cubic building rises that is accessed from the side of the hill.

On the street side, the building extends along the construction line and forms an inviting arrival zone, which can be read as a green bar and is crossed by paved paths. Foot access to the property is centrally located, while the garage is accessed via a lowered platform on the side with lake views. The design of the outdoor space follows a tiered concept along the sides of the building, creating a series of atriums, terraces and green spaces that open onto spacious terraces and green spaces facing the lake. Inside the building, access is via a voluminous, cascading entrance area, which is of course lit from above. The building juts out towards the lake in order to optimize the floor plan of the spacious apartments. The garage and parking spaces for bicycles and strollers are located on the lowest floor. Each apartment also has a cellar compartment. On the garden level above there is a centrally inserted T-shaped garden apartment that expands towards the lake view. A large, flowing living room extends along the garden and is flanked by an office and two bedrooms with lake views. The bedrooms, bathrooms and dressing rooms are accessed separately via a corridor and allow the lounges to have an open, flowing design. The central apartment is framed on the side by L-shaped sleeping floors of two maisonette apartments, which develop their living spaces on the floor above.

Here on the ground floor, the living spaces flow towards the view, where they culminate in spacious balconies with a view, the basic shape of which traces the plot boundary as a design break. Terraces and green spaces attached to the sides integrate additional bedrooms into a more private outside world. The upper floor is shared by a larger southeast-facing apartment and the private level of the rooftop maisonette apartment, whose master bedroom with a private terrace offers extensive views of the lake. Above this, the attic apartment, surrounded by terraces, can unfold freely around a spacious living room, which borders on two further bedrooms. An internal staircase leads to an additional private roof terrace, which impresses with its exclusive panoramic views. The building is framed by a light, lying clinker brick, which gives the volume a stoic, sculptural form. Through appropriate design economy, the façade design follows a subtle interplay in the façade surface and depth. The dark brown metal windows are taken from the facade, which are discreetly grouped compositionally by standing clinker brick fields between the windows. The sun blind boxes are mounted as exposed objects on the facade surface, so that they specifically enhance the composition without competing with the overall picture. Accordingly, the railings are made of glass and finished off at the top with a discreet metal band.
