As a replacement for a typical Schwamendingen row building, two point buildings are created through the clever play of border distances, which are surrounded by flowing landscape and thus continue the theme of the Zurich garden city under new legal conditions.

The stepped building form, which results from a well thought-out interplay of building volumes, floor plan qualities and extra length allowances, creates a functional, orthogonal four-part building with rich spatial qualities on the inside. The corner-facing conservatories complement the generous living space as a flexible, seasonal room and unite the building structure as design elements to form an overall shape.

The view from the sunrooms falls on an open landscape design, which is structured by a multitude of slightly raised plant islands with trees. This lends an intimacy to the apartments in terms of exterior reference, while also creating a communal play and rest area set back from the buildings in the northern corner of the plot.
